This page was last updated on: October 8, 2024 Similar to the Framework Comprehensive Plan, the zoning code update will be reviewed through a series of Special Called meetings. The zoning code review process began on April 6, 2022. The zoning map review process will begin on January 31, 2024. This page lists the Planning and Zoning Commission schedule of Special Called meetings to be held outside of their regularly scheduled monthly meetings. A draft of the updated zoning code text is now available for public review. The draft code and proposed zoning map will be reviewed through a series of Special Called meetings that are anticipated to begin in late January 2024.    

The Tuscaloosa Planning and Zoning Commission will meet on October 11, and City Council will meet on October 12 for orientations and training to formally begin the Framework Code Update. The purpose of these meetings is for the Tuscaloosa Planning and Zoning Commission, the City Council, and the public to get an overview of the Code Update process, meet the consultants from Clarion, learn about roles and responsibilities, and provide an opportunity for feedback and questions.
